Hope for the Hamlet

In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus turned the table on the question from the law expert from, “Who is my neighbor?”, to, “To whom must I become a neighbor?” This is a proactive posture on loving your neighbor as yourself.

On September 15, 2018 we will be doing some proactive neighboring during the Hamlet Community Block Party.

We’ve called this proactive move, “full church mobilization”. But the preparation requires a few volunteers for the party from the PPC, (The Party Planning Committee).

The PPC’s role is to coordinate activities, plan the event layout, gather the needed materials, mobilizing the materials to and from the Hamlet. Since we’ve done these parties numerous times, we will only need to meet twice before the party. Meeting dates are August 23 and Sept 6. (These can be changed according to member’s availability.) Would you like to be a part of the PPC? If so, contact Pastor Kenny Foster via text or call 302.535.4917.

This year our theme is “Hope for the Hamlet.” We want to hear from our neighbors answers to this question, “What are your hopes?” Then we want to take them and discover ways that the church can help facilitate the achievement of their hopes. This is one way of becoming a neighbor, loving and serving our community. Pray for the PPC and the Hamlet Community Block Party. Pray about your participation and get ready to be receptacles of our neighbor’s hope and be dispensers of the hope that is in Christ!
