Praise Choir

The Praise Choir provides periodic special music and worship leadership for our blended service (9:15 A.M.), with an emphasis on contemporary worship music. The choir also sings occasionally in the 11:00 Traditional Service. The choir sings on the average a couple of times a month Sept. thru May and an extra time or two in the Christmas and Easter season. The music style is predominantly contemporary. Many of the songs performed by the Praise Choir are songs the congregation will eventually learn and use in regular Sunday worship.

Qualifications and Time Requirements: Choir members need the ability to match pitch, blend with a group, and sing harmony parts (not just the melody) either by reading the notes or by memorizing from a recording or repetition in rehearsals. The ability to read music is most helpful, but not required. Members ordinarily need to attend three out of four rehearsals on the average to participate meaningfully and to be helpful to the ministry. Rehearsals are Thursday nights from 7:00 – 8:45 P.M.
