Each February we celebrate Black History, and we recognize the contributions of Black men and women not only to American history, but also in the history of God’s redemptive activity. On February 25, we will celebrate Black History during our annual Top It Off celebration fellowship.

As a church that seeks to demonstrate the power of the gospel to gather worshipers from every tribe, tongue, and nation; we seek to learn, honor, and remember th eacts of God’s redeeming power among all peoples, and particularly African Americans during Black History month.

On that evening, there will be music by our choir, we will follow the “River of Faith” and then a panel conversation about the gospel and the history of reconciliation, including local pastors in the city.

Now someone might ask, “How do you prepare for this celebration?” I am glad you asked! There are some ways that you can help in the preparation:

  • Pray
  • Bring your family and a friend
  • Bake some potatoes (The potatoes will be provided by the Outreach Dept.) pick them up after church on the 25th, bake and bring them back by 5:30 pm.
  • Cook or bring some toppings for the potatoes (There are no rules about what to put on the potato, only that it is fit for human consumption)
  • Sign up in the Connector hallway. Look for details at the sign up list.
  • Childcare will be provided.

The celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner in the all-purpose room and then continuing with the program in the sanctuary. For more information, contact Kenny Foster, 302.734.8150 x705.
